Absolute Beginner Class (Post)
We are really looking forward to our new class launching and want to share some handy tips and try to answer any questions you may have. SOME TOP TIPS Come along with an open mind, be prepared to join in and dance like no one is watching. Try not to over think things. Listen to the music, count the beats, it really helps. Wear comfortable clothing, you may work up a sweat. Light weight shoes are ideal, trainers are ok, but the tread may limit your movements If you need help, just ask. Take your time, don’t get frustrated and remember practice makes perfect. We publish instruction videos taught at each class so you can have a go at home. This may be your first time, don’t give up even if you feel you won’t get it. Look up, smile and enjoy yourself – it’s meant to be a fun night out. QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE What time should I arrive? The session will start promptly at 6pm, but feel free to come along about 20 minutes before so we can get you checked in and you can get settled, meet your fellow dancers and of course hear the fire safety instructions. Are refreshments available? Please bring along a drink to enjoy. We do have a supply of bottled water just in case you forget, priced at a reasonable suggested donation of 25p per bottle. Do I need a pair of cowboy boots and cowboy hat? No, but if you have them you are more than welcome to wear them. We want you to be comfortable and have a fun night. See our tip above about light weight shoes. What will happen on the first night? The aim of the session is for you to learn some basic steps and dances. There will be an opportunity to go over the new dances during the last fifteen minutes of each session. What facilities are available at the community centre? There are toilets at the community centre for you to use and coat hooks for you to hang your coats and bags. I’m nervous, should I be worried? Absolutely not, our instructor was nervous at their first class too, it’s only natural. Come along and have some fun. What payment methods do you accept? You can pay by cash or card, including Apple and Google pay. |
We hope you have found the information useful, if you have any other questions do get in touch with us. We look forward to seeing you on Monday. |
